There once was a shepherd, a man of God, who tended a flock in a small, rural village. He was known throughout the land for his wisdom, his kindness, and his unwavering faith. His sermons were filled with tales of compassion, forgiveness, and the love of the divine. Yet, beneath his pious exterior, a dark secret lurked.
For many years, the shepherd had preyed upon the women of his flock. He used his position of authority and trust to manipulate and abuse them. He promised them spiritual guidance and divine favor, but in reality, he was leading them astray. Some of the women bore his children, children he denied as his own.
When the shepherd's time on Earth came to an end, he found himself before the throne of the Almighty. He stood trembling, his face filled with shame and fear. He tried to justify his actions, to claim that he had been misled, that he had sinned unknowingly. But the Lord, who sees all, knew the truth.
"You were a shepherd," the Lord said, "a guardian of the flock. Yet you led them astray. You abused your trust and brought suffering upon the innocent. How can you stand before me and claim righteousness?"
The shepherd's knees buckled, and he fell to the ground. He wept bitterly, his tears a river of sorrow. "I am sorry," he cried. "I have sinned greatly. Please, forgive me."
The Lord looked upon him saying, "Your sins are heavy, The words you preached of repentance and forgiveness and righteous living stand witness against you. Depart from me worker of iniquity. I never knew you!"
